St Martins Charities
St Martins regularly supports 3 charities which includes World Vision, Compassion and City Mission in Brighton.
This is Ana, our Compassion sponsored child. She is 16 years old and lives in Ecuador, South America. Here at St Martins we have made a commitment to Ana to make sure she and her family are known, loved and protected. Compassion UK reaches the most vulnerable children even before they are born. In a world where 6 million children wont survive to their 5th birthday, Compassion works with local churches to support parents and give their children the best start in life, building their future and releasing them from poverty.
For £25.00 per month Ana receives a full education including Bible teaching through the local Church projects, nutritional food, vaccinations, health care and education, vocational skills to earn a living.
In the past Ana was sponsored by a legacy left from a member of our congregation up until recently when the legacy fund ran out. We at St Martins would like to see Ana complete her education up to the age of 18 and need over £600 to reach this goal. Please have a look at our fundraising ‘pop-up’ stall on the 4th Sunday of each month for gifts, books, plants and home make cakes. If you would like to donate anything or offer some baking of cakes/biscuits for the stall please bring along your donations on the morning of the stall. More information can be found on the Compassion noticeboard in the hall.
World Vision is the world’s largest international children’s charity, working to bring real hope to millions of children in the world’s hardest places. And we do it all as a sign of God’s unconditional love.
Poverty, conflict and disaster leave millions of children living in fear. Fear of hunger and disease. Fear of violence, conflict and exploitation. Fear that robs them of a childhood.
Our local staff work in thousands of communities across the world to free children from fear. They live and work alongside them, their families and communities to help change the world they live in for good.
